PANTANAL JAGUAR BUDGET TOUR – 4 DAYS

This jaguar tour is the cheapest option we have! Budget not means it is a cheap tour, but if we compare with the other JAGUAR TOURS, this is the cheaper, because the accommodations are cheaper than the other one. In terms of wildlife spotting, this tour is so good like the tours more expensive.

This activity itinerary is only an example how can be the activities distribution during your stay in the Pantanal and it can have chances according the weather and environmental conditions.

Day 01 – Private Transfer from Cuiabá to Pousada Pouso Alegre, Pantanal North

Pick up at the airport or hotel in Cuiabá and private transfer to the Pousada Pouso Alegre located in Pantanal North. The trip from Cuiabá to the lodge are almost 140km, it takes 02 up to 03 hours (depend of the conditions of the dirt road) been 100km in paved road until the Poconé City + 33 km of dirt road (Transpantaneira road) from Poconé to the farm entrance + 07 km of trail inside of the farm to where is located the Lodge.

Arrival at the lodge and check in. After relax a little bit and before get dark, you go for a nature walking for about 1h30m up to hours, where you will pass on boardwalk and bush. During the hike the guide, explain about the Pantanal´s environment and you have chance to spot coat mundi, agouti and many birds.

After dinner, you go to night car safari around the ranch area. In this tour a “silibim” (powerful lantern) is used, which reflects to the eyes of the animals, this allowing the best location of animals of nocturnal habits such as alligators, owls, fox, spider, tapir, etc. The night tour takes about 1 hour up to 1h30m. At night, the starry sky of the Pantanal is also a beautiful attraction.

Day 2 – Pantanal day tour with English speaking guide

Before breakfast, you go for a sunrise walk for about 1 hour to search for wildlife and birds. Around the lodge, there are bodies of water and marshes where the morning activity of birds, caimans, and other animals, encourages one to wake up and watch the sun rising outdoors. You have the chance of see the beautiful sunrise in Pantanal and great chances of spot Tapir, eating crab fox, dears, raccoons and birds.

After breakfast, you go for a car safari inside of the farm area. The trails scattered throughout each sector of the farm gives access to different environments, such as dry forests, flooded forests, savannahs, fields and swamps, providing the opportunity to sighting several kinds of Pantanal´s wildlife. Also Inside of the farm area there are many waterholes during the dry season, where can be discreetly observed tapirs, anteaters, deer, coatis and many other wildlife, as well as several medium-sized birds. The tour duration goes from 1h30m up to 2h30m depending on the climatic season.

After lunch, private transfer to Porto Jofre region located in the end of the Transpantaneira Road, almost 120km from Pousada Pouso Alegre. The trip will take between 4 and 5 hours and stops along the way will be made to spot wildlife (photographic Safari). Check-in at Pousada do Neco in the Porto Jofre region. Dinner.

Day 3 – Day tour with English speaking guide (boat tour searching for Jaguars)

After Breakfast, you will go to a jaguar motor Boat tour to search for the biggest cat of the Americas. The best months for spot Jaguars on the region is from July up to October, during the dry season, when the jaguar are closer to the rivers, looking for water and hunting. You will spend the full day in the rivers searching Jaguars and another wildlife like giant others, capybaras, caimans, monkeys and several species of birds. The tour happen on the Cuiabá, Piquiri and Três Irmãos rivers (Parque Estadual Encontro das Águas). Normally at lunchtime, there is a stop under the shade of the trees where you have your meal, served in a lunch box. After a short rest, you will continue the tour searching for jaguars and other wildlife. The boat has a small cover, which helps to protect from the sun, which is very hot during the dry season in the Pantanal. Return to the Lodge in the end of the day.

Day 4 – Private transfer from Pantanal (Porto Jofre) to Cuiabá

After breakfast, transfer back to Cuiabá. The trip will take between 5 up to 6 hours and some wildlife can be spotted on the way back to the city. (B).
