Pantanal Jungle Lodge Outdoor Tour – 5 days Trip

Day 1 – Transfer from Campo Grande to Pantanal

Pick up at the airport or bus station or hotel in Campo Grande. Regular shared transfer by minivan to Buraco das Piranhas (police station where biggins the Pantanal Park Road) or by private transfer (car) directly to the Pantanal Jungle Lodge . If you choose the regular shared transfer, the Lodge´s jeep will be waiting for you at Buraco das Piranhas and will bring you to the Lodge and you already have the opportunity to spot some wildlife on the Pantanal Park Road.

Arrival at the lodge, check-in and schedule the activities for the next days (this activity itinerary day by day is only an example how can be the activities distribution during your stay in the Pantanal).

One of the activities you may go on the arrival is the Fish Piranhas on the banks of Miranda river. This activity happens in front of the lodge end are used simple rods to fish. If you take a good amount of piranhas, your guide will bring it to the cooker fry it for you test at dinnertime.

Late in the afternoon, out for a sunset/night motor boat tour to watch the sunset (if it is not cloudy) and do a night focus of alligators. This tour lasts approximately 1h30 minutes and it happens in a motor boat through the Miranda River. During the tour in the night, will be used a powerful flashlight connected to a battery that allows the easy localization of nocturnal animals and birds such as alligators, owls, etc.

In this Lodge, you have 02 options of accommodation: shared dorm with other people (maximum 8 people) or private room. Both accommodations have air conditioning and private bathroom/toilet. (D)

Day 2 – Pantanal day tour with local English guide

After breakfast, departure for the motor boat trip on the Miranda River and its tributaries. This tour lasts from 2 up to 3 hours, being carried out by boat or covered boat equipped with lifejackets and comfortable chairs. During the tour you will have the opportunity to get to see the aquatic fauna and flora of the Miranda and Red rivers, as well as, swim in one of the sandy beaches to cool off the heat.

After lunch and rest, you will go to a canoeing tour. First of all, you go up the river stream with an engine boat with the canoes being towed. After approximately 40 minutes, you down the river with paddle canoes until arrive in the lodge (2 hours), contemplating the aquatic fauna and flora, as well as listening to the sounds of the birds, since there will be not the noise of the boat engine. The motorized boat will be around during the down the river, just for safety. This tour can be done down the river and in this case the motorized boat will bring them back to the hotel with the canoes in tow.

Day 3 – Pantanal day tour with local English guide

After breakfast, you go for jeep safari around the Pantanal Park Road and ecological walk on the Pantanal fields. This tour happen in an open pickup truck adapted for tours. During the driving on the road, the jeep stop when the guide spot some wildlife and you have the chance of take several photos of animals and birds. In a certain point of the tour, you go for a walk in the Pantanal fields searching for wildlife. Usually the hike takes around 1 hour and the guide also show and explain a little about the plants and trees. The tour takes about 3h30min up to 4 hours.

After lunch and rest, you go for a swim in the river and floating in the Miranda River. A motor boat will take you across the river to a point where the swimming takes place. Falling into the refreshing waters is already exciting and, with the help of a foam float and life jacket, you can relax and let yourself be carried away by the current of the Miranda River until you return to the lodge, which is on the banks of the river. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Day 4 – Pantanal day tour with local English guide

After breakfast, departure to the farm where you will horseback ride. This tour happens in a typical Pantanal ranch which is approximately 20 km from the Lodge. The trip to the ranch is in open jeep and during the transfer you can see some species of animals in the Pantanal Park Road. The horseback ride itself lasts approximately 1h40 and passes through various environments such as the open field, mountain ranges of enclosed forest and flooded areas during the flood season. In total the ride (jeep + horse) lasts from 3 to 4 hours. (B, L)

After lunch, you will pack a small bag to go to wild camp around the Miranda River. To get in camp site will be used a motor boat and you will look for wildlife on the way. Arriving in the camp each person will be responsible for helping with the organization of the camp, whether it is time to set up the tents, whether it is collecting firewood, or even preparing the dinner. After dinner you go out for a night boat tour, where is used a powerful flashlight connected to a battery to assist in locating the animals, alligators and nocturnal birds.

Day 5 – Transfer from Pantanal to Campo Grande

After breakfast, you will return to the Lodge and on the way back you will look for wildlife. In the rest of the morning you can go for Fish Piranhas on the banks of Miranda river or walk to the Miranda Bridge to have a different view of the area and take some photos or just relax around the pool or in one the hammocks around the lodge.

After lunch, around 2 pm, transfer by jeep from the Lodge to Buraco das Piranhas where you’ll take the Regular Sahred Transfer (minivan) to Campo Grande. If you chose private transfer, the car will pick you up directly in the Lodge and bring you to Campo Grande, not necessary change vehicle at Buraco das Piranhas. (B, L)
