PRESENTATION

Day 1

Private transfer from Campo Grande to Pantanal

Assistance at the airport of Campo Grande, where you will take the private transfer directly to the Pantanal. Arrival at the San Francisco Ranch after lunch time. According the arrival time will possible to walk around the farm to know the area.

After Dinner you go for the Night Jeep Safari (spotlight) around the areas of the farm. The tour run in trucks adapted for this kind activity, are consist wheel drive cars, equipped with seats at different levels to facilitate visualization of the animals. Runs through the area of irrigated rice production (good area for spotting mammals) and forest preservation area. The guides that accompany this tour are very well prepared to seek animals at night. There is in the Pantanal a great diversity of animals with nocturnal eating habits. Animals such as cub, ocelots, tapirs, caimans, capybaras, deer, owls, some birds, and the impressive jaguar. During the night, the bright light that is used for focusing reflected in the eyes of animals. You have chance of spot some of these animals carried on Night Jeep Safari in Pantanal.

Day 2

Pantanal Day Tour with English Speaking guide

After breakfast you go for a Jeep Photo Safari & Carandá Trail. This tour is conducted in comfortable safari cars. The road runs between the natural reserve of native forests and the productive areas of the farm. In this tour you can see Pantanal wildlife and see animals like deer, capybaras, alligators and many birds like the Jabiru Stork – a bird symbol of wetland. In a part of the tour you go for a walking on the Caranda Trail where you will spot the Miranda River. This walk takes about 20 minutes and you also will you see the meeting of the waters of the São Domingos Creek with the Miranda River. Several birds can be spot during the track. The program takes about 3 hour.

After Lunch you go for a Paddling Canoe Ride at São Domingo creek. To get in the creek you will use a jeep and the ride takes around 10 minutes. In São Domingo Creek you will use paddling canoe to ride in the calm water, where you have chance to spot alligators, capybaras, many birds, and with a lit luck you can get face to face with the Giant Otters. It’s a nice tour because you can hear all the nature sounds like birds, frogs, monkeys and even the fishes jumping from the water. The activity will be accompanied by a local guide specialized, which will give all instructions for you to accomplish the ride with comfort and safety. You do not need special training to carry out this activity. The duration of the tour is approximately 2 hours to 2 hours and half. Mandatory use vest life jackets for this activity provide by the ranch.

After dinner you will participate of a lecture by biologist that will explain a bit more about the Pantanal ecosystem.

Day 3

Pantanal Day Tour with English speaking guide

After Breakfast you go for a Horseback Ride. The ride is in typical Pantanal’s horse very well trained and it activity can be done for every one even the person that never rides a horse before. The tour will be done in the cattle area where the guide will show how they take care of the cows and you have the opportunity of know a lit bit about the pantaneiro’s life (Pantanal’s cowboy). Also during the ride you have change to see some wildlife like Armadillo, Giant anteater, Macaws, several kinds of birds. Mandatory use helmet.

Around 2:30pm start the Boat “chalana” tour – The ride happens at Corixo São Domingos – an arm “creek of the Miranda River, one of the main Rivers of the region. On this tour you can see birds that live on the banks of rivers such as the kingfisher, cormorants, egrets, herons, hawks and many others. The alligator is often seen up close. With luck, otters and even a jaguar can cross in front of the boat. The chalana stop a lit bit for you try to catch some piranhas. During the dry season is it possible do a walking trail in the riparian zone of the creek São Domingos, being possible to know the typical vegetation of this forest. All the way from the reception to the creek and return to reception are made by jeep safari and all the tour takes around 3 hours and can be done for people of all ages.

Day 4

Pantanal tour and Private Transfer from Pantanal to Campo Grande

After breakfast, you go for a Nature Hike. Track Vazante – walk on wooden track that overlaps an area that some time is flooded some time dry, in the forest reserve that San Francisco Ranch maintains. The trail has 900 meters long and at the end we find a gazebo with 10 meters high, which facilitates the observation of the Pantanal landscape. Along the way, the trail passes through open areas and clumps of forest and you have chance to see a wide variety of birds as well as mammals such a marsh deer, capybaras, alligator  and even the jaguar that has been spotted using this trail during the flood season. The tour takes about 2 hours.

After lunch, transfer from Pantanal to Campo Grande by Private Car. (B)
