1º Day: Private transfer from Campo Grande to Pantanal

Assistance at the airport or bus station or hotel in Campo Grande and private transfer with local driver (car or minivan) to the Pousada Aguapé located in the Pantanal of Aquidauana. The trip from Campo Grande to the Rach/Pousada takes 03 up to 04 hours (depend of the conditions of the dirt road), will be 150km of paved road and almost 50km of dirt road where you already have chances of spot some wildlife. Check-in in the Pousada and schedule the activities for the next days (this activity itinerary is only an example how can be the activities distribution during your stay in the Pantanal).

Usually the visitors like relax a little bit in this first afternoon and walk around the Pousada to have your first contact with the birds and animals that live around.

The best periods to do the activities is very early in the morning and late in the afternoon, when the temperature is not so hi and is the time the animals and birds are more active.

After dinner, you can go for a nocturnal tour by boat or by jeep truck. During the tour, the guide use a strong flashlight to search for the night animals like anteaters, foxes, capybaras and caimans. You also will hear the sounds of frogs and insects at night and see the beautiful sky of the Pantanal.

2º Day: Pantanal day tour with English speaking guide

Right after the breakfast, you go for an activity that can be for example a Motor Boat Trip. Boats are the best way to know the Aquidauana River and the beauty and exuberance of its gallery forest. It is the natural habitat of birds, mammals and reptiles that lie out on river banks or simply hear the songs of the birds. This tour takes 02 up to 03 hours, and it is necessary to use a life jacket (provided by the Pousada). Sometimes during the tour the local guide, turn off the engine and the boat down the stream with the river current, it´s nice to enjoy the silence and the nature songs. All the boats have sits, is legalize and have persona insurance.

In the middle of the day (when it is warmer), you have a free time to enjoy the swimming pool or in one of the hammocks around or even fresh up in your room with air-conditioner.

Before the afternoon activity, you will enjoy a natural juice and a cake. The next activity can be a nature walk / trekking. The trekking happen in different areas, like in dense bush, open fields and gallery forest. In the tour, you have much contact with the flora and fauna of the region learning about their function and importance in Pantanal ecosystem. It is a good opportunity to see the animals more closely. There are different trails that you can go on and it takes between 1h30 to 4h00 hours. You can decide with your local guide how long would like to walk. During the wet season, you will walk in some flooded places and are very high the chances of you get close of an alligator.

3º Day: Pantanal day tour with English speaking guide

After breakfast, you have the option of go for a Horseback Ride on the Pantanal´s field and see a little bit how it´s rune the cattle farming in Pantanal. Riding through its open fields, marshes, capões, ridges, streams and bays, you encounter a rich variety of lush flora and fauna, typical of a region well preserved. The horses are quiet, which means that even those who have never ridden a horse can do this tour. There are several tracks with shorter or longer routes (you decide with the local guide which one is better for you), which can be made in both the floods and dry seasons, always with experienced local guides. For who don´t want horseback ride, it is possible go for a horse carriage.

Horseback riding activity, is being implemented a safety management system that meets the requirements of ABNT NBR-15331 – Safety Management System Requirements.

Before the afternoon activity, you will enjoy a natural juice and a cake. Another activity you can do is a Jeep Photo Safari. The photo safari happen in a 4×4 open vehicle adapted for tours (sits in the back). This tour gives the opportunity to cover more territory of the ranch going through different landscapes like savanna (patches of stunted vegetation), open grasslands, “vazantes” (low-lying areas that are often seasonally flooded), “brejos” (swamps) and bays which are permanently flooded areas. It is also a perfect tour to see and observe the wildlife of the Pantanal. During the trip, some stops happen and small walks can be done.

4º Day: Private transfer from Pantanal to Bonito

After breakfast, you can do a Piranha Fishing – The piranha fishing happen in a bay of Aquidauana River, that it is located near the lodge. The piranha is mainly used to prepare a typical dish of the region, piranha soup. It is also good way to see the caimans who watch the fishers to steal their piranhas.

After lunch, transfer by private car to Campo Grande. (B,L)
