4 Days Tours Northern Pantanal – Piuval Lodge
PRESENTATION

Day 1

Private Transfer from Cuiabá (Hotel or airport) to Northern Pantanal
Assistance at the airport of Cuiabá and transfer to the Piuval Lodge located in the Northern Pantanal. The trip from Cuiabá to the lodge is almost 110km, it takes 02 up to 03 hours (depend of the conditions of the dirt road) been 100km in paved road until the Poconé City + 10km of dirt road (Transpantaneira road) from Poconé to the Lodge. Check-in and presentation of the activities program. Depending what time you arrive in the lodge it is possible walk around to have your first contact with the Pantanal wetlands.
After dinner, you will go to a Night Photografic Safari – it is used a “silibim” (powerful lantern) to spot the animals. The light reflects to the eyes of the animals, this allowing the best location of animals of nocturnal habits such as alligators, owls, fox, spider, etc… With great possibilities of seeing several species of mammals and birds, the safari gives visitors a unique sensation of being deeply in contact with the wild. The ride lasts 1h30min.

Day 2

Pantanal day tour with English speaking guide
Right after the breakfast, you go for an activity that can be for example Ecological walk or ecological hike. This activity usually carried out on natural trails that run through various environments in Pantanal, such as: ciliary forest (riverside forest), capons / mountain ranges (forests in higher areas), creeks and open field. It is one of the Pantanal activities where you have more contact with the flora of the region knowing its functions and importance for the balance of the Pantanal ecosystem, besides being a good opportunity to see the wildlife more closely since there is no noise coming from Engines, cars, horses, etc. The duration of the ecological walk in the Pantanal ranges from 1h30min to 3h depending on group arrangement and climatic conditions.
After lunch, you go for you go out for Motor Boat Trip – The Boat ride at Pousada Piuval is made in one of the largest bays in the Region, Bay of Piuval. The bay has approximately 05 km long and 01 km wide and many nest of several animals can be found, such as: Alligators, Jabiru stork, capybaras, deer, howler monkeys, and birds. The sunset is beautiful and unforgettable in this place. The ride is made in a powerboat with a 20 HP engine, with cushioned benches without hoods. At the end of the bay there is an island where there is a footbridge of 450 m distance and a 15m high observation tower, where it is possible to observe the Pantanal from above. Its frontal view goes against a beautiful ninhal of biguás, herons and spoonbills between June to October, we recommend binoculars for a more profitable experience.

Day 3

Pantanal day tour with English speaking guide
Before breakfast, you go walk to see the sunrise, the nature songs and the birds starting fly around. After breakfast, horseback ride. It is a typical tour of Pantanal and it shows you the area as “Pantaneiro” (Pantanal cowboy) sees: from above a horse! The horses are quiet and trained to ride with people who don´t have experience on ridden, which means that even those who have never ridden on horseback before can do this tour. Several trails (shorter and longer trails) can be use during dry and wet season and always accompanied by experienced local guides. It is a contemplation ride, where during the ride; typical Brazilian savannah animals like armadillos, anteaters, deer, rhea and infinite variety of birds can be spot. The tour duration goes from 1 hour up to 3 hours depending on the experience of the person and climatic season.
In the middle of the day (when it is warmer), you have a free and time to rest.
After lunch, you will go to an Ecological Walk. Forests of acori capons and native trees of the Pantanal form all the trails made at Pousada Piuval. Tourists can observe various types of animals, among them: nail monkey, howler monkey, blue macaw, capybaras, anteater, quati, cotia, jabiru stork, anteater, armadillo and alligators. The Pousada Piuval, has 04 different trails: Acori Trail; Bridge Trail; Monkey Trail and Birici trail (with observation tower). Each trail have a specific duration and a degree difficult. A guide to transmit local knowledge and ensure safety to visitors accompanies the hike in all trails. Between June to October, we recommend binoculars for a more profitable experience.

Day 4

Pantanal day tour with English speaking guide and Transfer from Pantanal to Cuiabá
After breakfast, you will go to a Photografic Car Safari – With great possibilities of seeing several species of mammals and birds, the safari gives visitors a unique sensation of being deeply in contact with the wild. While touring the entire area of the Pousada in search of animals increasingly rare to see, such as tapir, anteater, armadillos, blue macaws, and how about suddenly “face” with a jaguar. The ride lasts 2 hours, takes you to incredible places and is made in cars suitable for each terrain.
Lunch and Private transfer back to Cuiabá. (B, L)
