The TUCAN AMAZON LODGE is a small lodge in the Rio Negro region, in the middle of Amazon Rain Forest in Brazil. Beyond the richness and beauty of the nature, one of the nice things about the Lodge is the home atmosphere; you will feel like home during your staying in the Jungle.

The Lodge is owned by a local couple (Flavio and Cecilia), who lives together and manage the lodge for around 20 years. It´s a simple structure, if you compare it with others jungle lodges, but the presence of the owners makes the difference at the end of your trip. They are simple and happy people, they love to show to the visitors amazing things in the wild Amazon rainforest, their home garden!

As you may know in the Amazon Forest, there are periodic floods and to prevent flooding in the buildings, the accommodations and restaurant are high from the ground, on wooden pillars built. The restaurant (arrival / departure point) is connect to the accommodation by elevated walkways. In addition, there is a common area with hammocks to you relax in your free time between the activities and after the meals.

Like, we said before, the Tucan Lodge is small, it´s built with local material and all the buildings have mosquitoes nets around (unless the hammocks area)! In the total there are only 05 independent rustic huts equipped with air-condition, fans and bathroom. The beds hold nice quality and are equipped with mosquito net if necessary. There are one room with double bed (02 people) and other 4 rooms with 01 double bed + 01 single bed (03 people).

There is a little restaurant where are served a varied menu of regional dishes. As there is no other restaurants or stores near by the lodge, all the Amazon tour packages include breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is simple and homemade by Cecilia (owner). For sure, you will taste typical Amazon food, what in our option is an important part of the jungle experience.

The transfers and eco-activities are managed by Flavio (owner). The tours happens in the lake, rivers and in the rain forest. As Flavio doesn´t speak another language (only Portuguese) always, an English speaking local guide will be with you during the tours and will explain about the Amazon Forest and the local wildlife.

To see the nature, search for wildlife and see the local culture, you will participate of few activities / tours, like: jungle trekking, alligator spotting, visit an Indian community, swimming with dolphins, piranha fishing, paddling canoe ride, motor boat ride… In consultation with your local guide, you decide what activities and excursions you want to participate.

The jungle can be really hot and humid, but due to a strategic location, built in the banks of the Acajatuba Lake, in the lodge area, usually there is a cooling breeze, it feels comfortable. The location of Tucan Lodge (Black river / Rio Negro) is privileged because there aren´t many mosquitoes throughout most of the year.

As the Lodge´s area is farway from Manaus, the tour packages have minimum of 02 nights / 03 days. There are tours of 03 and 04 nights.
If you want also is possible spend one night sleeping in Hammocks (with mosquitoes net) in the jungle (3 and 4 nights tour package).
